Mad (Men) World

Is anyone else excited about the start of Mad Men Season 4 tonight?  Not only is it one of the best written shows on TV, it is also a time capsule of the 1960′s.   Both the decor and the fashion are inspiring and are certainly on trend today.  I usually have to watch each episode a few times so I can take in all the eye candy (Don Draper included!).

So, in honour of tonight’s premiere on AMC, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite photos from the show.

The cast

In Season 3, Betty redecorates her living room.  Notice the chinoiserie accents on the lamps and the cane pattern on the chairs?

While I’m not a fan of the bed coverlet, I absolutely love the headboard.

Joan Harris (nee Halloway) is my absolute favourite character on the show.   Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, her wardrobe is amazing. I also love the wallpaper!

Even Betty’s psychologist has great design style with the Saarinen tulip table and Mies Van der Rohe daybed.

Don’s office

These photos were from an episode in Season 3 entitiled ‘The Jet Set’ which was my favourite episode of the season- if only to catch a glimpse of the fabulous mid century modern house in Palm Springs (you can read more about my love of Palm Springs here).

So, I hope you enjoy the show tonight, I’m looking forward to seeing the new digs of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce!

LOVE this show! I thought the season premiere was fantastic. I also enjoyed a Season 3 marathon right before, just to get excited :-)

This was an excellent idea for a blog post. The pictures were great, and I loved how you tied them into your blog concept.

Stopping by from #31DBBB Challenge. Good Luck!
